The Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University provides a full range of prevention, early detection, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care programs for all types of cancer. It is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The Lurie Cancer Center is comprised of a full range of medical, surgical, and radiation oncology treatment facilities as well as screening facilities and programs for breast, prostate, colon, and ovarian cancers. In addition, it features a multidisciplinary breast center, a genetic testing and counseling service, an academic hospice/palliative medicine program, the Center for Integrative Medicine, cancer rehabilitation services, a fertility preservation program, a comprehensive program in liver-directed therapies, and Chicago’s largest stem cell transplant program.
Primary and tertiary programs on the main medical center campus treat nearly 10,000 new cancer cases annually and the Lurie Cancer Center maintains affiliations with Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Children’s Memorial Hospital, and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
